Sunlight is a moonlit confession to a boy dipped in warmth, detailing an apology for dragging him down with me.

i’m sorry for sending you tens

of sad videos at 2am but something

in the way you kiss me told me

that you would get it.

i'm sorry for maybe pushing you

back into that thought process,

that maybe it would be better if

no one knew who you were or that

you ever left.

i’m sorry that we seem to

understand each other maybe a bit

too well.

i’m sorry i told you we can kiss

and hug to make up for it and remind

each other we're alive and

should stay that way, if you want.

i’m sorry you asked if you hugged

me and never let go, what then?

i'm sorry i answered then there's

no chance to forget.

and i’m sorry we'll remember this

conversation for the rest of

our lives, but at least we're still

alive.
